Where they work

  • Pages: GHL Conversations, and the conversation tab inside a contact (Contacts → open a contact).
  • Device: GHL in a web browser on a computer. They do not run in the LeadConnector mobile app.
  • Login: the tools only work when you are logged in to GHL inside that sub-account. If you see reload the page, refresh the browser tab.
ℹ️
Tools load with the page

Tools appear after the page loads. If one is missing, refresh the page once.

1. WhatsApp number picker

  • Where: a WhatsApp dropdown next to Internal Comment, above the message box.
  • What: it lists the connected WhatsApp numbers of this sub-account, with the WhatsApp profile name. With 10 or more numbers it adds a search box (Search name or number).
  • Picking a number: tags the contact wa#13079982878. From then on, messages to that contact go from that number, including messages sent by workflows. Picking another number replaces the tag.
  • Shortcut: type wa# in the message box and the same list opens. Use ↑ ↓ and Enter, or click a number. It inserts {wa#13079982878} into your message, so only that one message goes from that number. The contact is not tagged, and the {wa#...} text is removed before sending.

For how the sending number is chosen overall, see Number selection.

Messages you may see:

  • Open a conversation first
  • No connected WhatsApp number
  • WhatsApp numbers: reload the page (refresh the tab)

2. WhatsApp reactions

  • Where: hover over a message and a small 🙂 appears at its bottom right corner.
  • React: click 🙂, then pick 👍 ❤️ 😂 😮 😢 🙏, or + for every emoji. The contact sees the reaction on WhatsApp.
  • Contact's reactions: reactions the contact sends show as a small badge on the message.
  • Change or remove: click the badge to open the picker again. Your current reaction is highlighted, and under the emojis it says Your reaction 😀 Remove. Click Remove, or click the highlighted emoji again. An emoji chosen from + also shows in the row, highlighted, so you don't have to look for it again.
ℹ️
Applies going forward

This works for messages sent or received after the tool was switched on.

3. WhatsApp replies

When a contact replies to a specific message on WhatsApp (swipe to reply), GHL shows the quoted message above the reply, labelled Replied to:, the way WhatsApp does.

4. WhatsApp Message Builder

  • Where: a builder icon in the message box toolbar. It is also in the toolbar's more options menu as WhatsApp Message Builder.
  • What: build button, list or carousel messages with a live WhatsApp-style preview.

Edit an existing message: if the message box already holds a #btn, #list or #carousel message, the builder opens with it loaded.

For the message formats themselves, see Build a chatbot and What is WA list.

5. Interactive message preview

  • What: messages written as #btn, #list or #carousel show in the conversation as cards, the way the contact sees them on WhatsApp: buttons, list options and carousel cards.

When you open WAGHL from GHL's left menu, the GHL menu folds away, so the WAGHL panel gets the full width.

For agencies: switch tools on or off

  • All tools are on for every sub-account.
  • An agency can switch any tool off for all its sub-accounts:
    1. In the WAGHL panel, open JS Scripts in the left menu.
    2. Turn the switch next to a tool off (or back on).
  • The change applies the next time users reload GHL.
  • Sub-account users can't change these switches. They should ask their agency.
💡
Turning a tool off

Turning a tool off hides it everywhere for your sub-accounts. It doesn't change any messages already sent.

FAQ

+I don't see the tools.
  1. Refresh the page.
  2. Make sure you are using GHL in a browser, not the mobile app.
  3. Ask your agency whether the tool is switched on under JS Scripts.
+The picker says "reload the page".

Your GHL session needs refreshing. Reload the browser tab.

+Does the shortcut tag the contact?

No. {wa#...} applies to that one message only. Picking from the dropdown is what tags the contact.
