When to delete
Delete a list when you want to:
- Stop the list from triggering on its keyword
- Free up the keyword to be used by a different list
- Clean up old/unused lists for clarity
How to delete
Identify the list
Find the workflow that builds the list you want to delete. Confirm the keyword by sending it on WhatsApp first — make sure you're targeting the right list.
Open the action
Inside the workflow, find the action that builds the list (the webhook or premium action).
Add "delete" at the end
Scroll to the bottom of the action and add the keyword delete. This signals our system to remove the list.
Save & test workflow
Save the action. Save the workflow. Then click Test Workflow — this is what actually applies the deletion in our system.
Verify
Send the keyword on WhatsApp. The list should no longer pop up.
Remove the action from GHL
Once confirmed deleted, remove the now-unused action from your workflow to keep things clean.
Just saving the workflow isn't enough. You must:
- Save the action
- Save the workflow
- Click "Test Workflow" — this is what registers the deletion in our system
Without the Test Workflow step, the list will still trigger on its keyword.
Tips for efficiency
- Track your lists. Keep a simple spreadsheet of all your active list keywords + what they do. Saves head-scratching when you want to delete one.
- Review monthly. Lists that haven't fired in 30+ days are probably good candidates to clean up.
- Double-check the keyword. Test on WhatsApp before deleting — a typo could mean you delete the wrong list.
