Two filtering modes
WAGHL gives you two levels of inbox control. Here's how the filter works visually:
When "existing GHL contacts only" is enabled, known senders pass through the filter into your inbox — random new senders get blocked before they reach you.
1. Stop all incoming messages
If you want WAGHL to be send-only (outbound messages and workflows still work, but no incoming WhatsApp messages reach your GHL inbox), enable this option. Useful when:
- You're using WAGHL purely for marketing or transactional sends
- Customer replies are handled by a different team or tool
- You want to avoid GHL conversation clutter
2. Stop personal/non-contact messages
Block messages from people who aren't already a contact in GHL. Useful when:
- You only want replies from existing leads/customers, not random new senders
- Your WhatsApp number is shared with friends/family who shouldn't appear in GHL
- You want to keep your GHL contact list clean
How to enable
Both settings live in the WAGHL Admin Panel for each sub-account.
Open the Settings or Numbers tab
Find the WhatsApp number's settings panel. You'll see toggles for incoming-message rules.
Toggle your preference
Choose one of the three options:
- Allow all incoming messages (default)
- Disable all incoming messages (send-only mode)
- Allow incoming messages only for existing GHL contacts (filter mode)
Save changes — the new rule takes effect immediately.
The "existing GHL contacts only" mode is the most common choice for agencies — it keeps your inbox focused on customer conversations while filtering out noise.
These rules only affect incoming messages. Your team can still send WhatsApp messages out from GHL conversations, workflows, and AI replies regardless of which rule you choose.
