What number sharing does

Normally each sub-account connects its own WhatsApp number by scanning a QR code. With number sharing you scan a number once in a main sub-account, then map other sub-accounts to it. All the mapped accounts send and receive on that one number.

  • No extra device — one physical phone serves every mapped sub-account at once.
  • Scan once — no re-scanning the same number into each account.
  • Team collaboration — teams across different sub-accounts work from the same number.
This is different from multi-number Number sharing puts one number in several sub-accounts. If instead you want several numbers inside one sub-account, see Connect unlimited numbers.

How to set it up

Open Number Sharing

In the left menu, click Number Sharing.

Map device to locations

Click Map Device to Location(s) to start a new mapping.

Select the main sub-account

Under Select Sub-account, choose the sub-account whose number you want to share — the one that already has the connected WhatsApp number.

Select the sub-accounts to map

Under Select Location(s), tick one or more other sub-accounts that should share this number. You can search by name and select as many as you need.

Save the mapping

Click Save Mapping (or Update Mapping if you're editing). The Mapped Locations view then shows every account sharing the number, with a saved-count like "3 mapping(s) saved".

That's it — the mapped sub-accounts now use the shared number for sending and receiving.

Billing

Each sub-account is still billed separately Sharing one number doesn't merge billing. Every sub-account keeps its own subscription, even when several of them use the same WhatsApp number. Number sharing saves you a device and re-scanning — not the per-sub-account fee.

Where conversations show up

A message on the shared number reaches all the mapped sub-accounts — that's what lets separate teams work from one number. It also means a contact who writes in can appear in more than one account.

Keep other accounts' contacts out If you don't want contacts from one account's conversations showing up in another, turn off Create Contact in the sub-accounts that should stay clean. New contacts from the shared number then won't be auto-created there.

Removing a mapping

To stop a sub-account sharing the number, open Number Sharing and remove it from the mapping.

Remove the mappings before deleting the main account The main sub-account can't be deleted while other accounts are still mapped to its number. Remove all the other mappings first — the panel will tell you: "Remove all other mappings first to unlock parent deletion."

Limits

There's no limit on how many sub-accounts can share a single number — map as many as you like.

Troubleshooting
